MALE NUDE

Everything started in 1997. A man walked into my studio , with a coldness in his eye he wanted a portait of himself. While he sat in the armchair I stood behind the canvas. Two things were important to me. I've always painted armchairs passionately and painting portraits puts together the painter and the model on the intense way to meeting each other. Gradually,a challenge, a silent fight started while working. We talked a lot and he asked me to paint him bare-chest and then fully naked.Painting the body is always a unique experience. It is a quest that keeps us asking about the éternity of the portrait.I felt deeply moved as I came to the point "how frail we are " the humain body lay there ,life size though other death the body is decaying to nothingness, it deserves its true dimensions on the canvas.

FLOWERS

When the model had left, I painted flowers. Freedom was regained. A feminine side appeared, I didn't feel compelled as I went on painting. Each flower was different and reminded me of the model as in a fantasy, a dream. I felt everything could mingle in a flow of desire on the canvas.
